As in 2020, the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo will not take place this year either. Organizer Karl Katoch has now officially informed the starters that the Extreme Enduro Event cannot take place. The somewhat relaxed COVID regulations in Austria are still too strict:
“According to the new COVID-19 regulations issued by Austria’s Federal Government and after extensive evaluations of the consequences for the event, the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo 2021 has to be cancelled.
Red Bull Erzbergrodeo auch 2021 abgesagt
On April 24th the Austrian Federal Government has published its long awaited, new COVID-19 regulations and guidelines for Austria, including new rules and directives for sports events and the event branch in general for the upcoming months.
During the past months the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo race promotor crew has worked out several scenarios for a successful and secure holding of the event on the first weekend of June 2021. Each and every detail was planned to be prepared for new regulations in the best possible way. The observance of the new regulations of the Austrian Federal Government makes it impossible to implement the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo 2021. We have fighted to the very last minute by running several scenarios, but in the end there is no other way than to cancel the event. We are looking ahead to the future and point our full concentration towards planning the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo 2022.” (source: erzbergrodeo riders information)
In accordance with the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Cov19 guarantee, all registered participants receive their full participation fee back without any deductions.
