KTM Motorcycles in the fast lane
Thanks to an explosive start in sales at the beginning of the 2012 motorcycle season, the Austrian brand has been catapulted into first place among European motorcycle manufacturers.
The KTM Sportmotorcycle AG has made a perfect start into the new motorcycle season. The Austrian brand has shown itself to be stronger than ever before in the international motorcycle markets (+125 ccm in Europe, USA, Canada and Australia).
City Express thanks to extremely lightweight bike
Expressed in figures: With sales of more than 8300 units, representing a plus of 19 percent over last year, KTM was the leading motorcycle manufacturer in Europe for this period. Sales of the very sporty naked street bike 125 and 200 Duke models make up a large part of these excellent figures. The 200 ccm model, developed with a special focus on the Indian market was first introduced to the media in November 2011. In addition to this extremely lightweight everyday sports bike, the company’s homologated offroad machines have also been extremely popular, especially the 350 EXC-F, first introduced in 2011. Now with the newly developed Freeride 350 positioned in the starting gates, KTM presents yet another highly sought-after offroad model that is licensed for road use.
Strong Newcomer: KTM Freeride 350
Hubert Trunkenpolz, KTM Sales Director (CSO) “We had a very motivating start to the new sales year. However we were still surprised at how positive the results were for the first two months. The worldwide interest in the 125 ccm and the 200 ccm Duke models just keeps growing. In addition the turnover figures for all other asphalt models right across the ccm range are developing in a very positive way.” (source: ktm)
