Taddy enjoys successful sprint enduro weekend
KTM Enduro Factory Team rider Taddy Blazusiak has claimed overall victory in the Elite class at rounds three and four of the 2012 British Sprint Enduro Championship. Finishing as runner-up to KTM team-mate Johnny Aubert at the opening round of the series, Taddy delivered a winning performance at round three where he placed 42 seconds ahead of Jordan Rose with Ricky Dietrich third. At round four Blazusiak placed as runner-up, enough to ensure he claimed a well-deserved overall Elite class victory.
With clear skies and warm weather replacing the sub-zero temperatures of the opening rounds of the BSEC series, track conditions were perfect throughout the two-day event. Making a winning start to the weekend Taddy was the only rider to complete the first timed special test in less than eight minutes, going on to post the fastest Elite class times on the opening five laps. Easing his pace towards the end of the day Blazusiak placed his 350 KTM at the top of the results sheet on the eighth and final lap to ensure a commanding win.
Round four saw Taddy make another fast start, topping the first timed special test. Only a hand full of seconds off the winning pace on tests two, three and four, Blazusiak posted the fastest time on lap five, going on to claim an eventual runner-up result while also claiming the overall Elite class win for the two days. In doing so Taddy moved himself to the top of the 2012 British Sprint Enduro Championship Elite class standings.
Taddy Blazusiak: “It’s been great to come away from this weekend with the overall win. Finishing first at round three and then backing that up with second at round four has been a real confidence booster for me. On Saturday I was able to get an advantage early on and once I had built up a comfortable lead I simply tried to control my pace throughout the rest of the day and was able to win. The course was much rougher on Sunday and Dietrich was pushing hard. Although I didn’t win I’m pleased with my riding. To stay within eight seconds of him has been a big confidence boost for me as he’s very fast in these types of conditions. Unfortunately, this will be the last round of the BSEC I’ll compete in this year as I’m now starting to prepare for the AMA Endurocross championship, which starts in May. I’ve had a great time and really enjoy this weekend.” (source: global motorsport communication)
