(GasGas) Since early 2020, when GASGAS took on the Dakar Rally for the very first time, Hinson Clutch Components have been fitted inside all of the team’s MXGP, enduro, and rally bikes. So when the time came to renew things with the world’s best clutch component manufacturer, it was a pretty easy decision to make, and GASGAS Factory Racing will continue to benefit from using Hinson products throughout 2023 and 2024.
Hinson has been manufacturing high-performance clutch components since 1992, so when the brand went full throttle into offroad racing at the turn of the decade, there was only one brand to call. Shortly after the ink had dried on that deal, GasGas won their first round of MXGP, and soon after that an AMA Supercross main event.
Fast forward a little and by far the biggest accomplishment that GASGAS and Hinson have achieved together is winning the 2022 Dakar Rally! The grueling event, won by Sam Sunderland and his Hinson equipped RC 450F, required high performance and next-level reliability in order to succeed.
Robert Jonas, Head of Motorsports Offroad: “Over the last three years, GASGAS and Hinson have won world championships in enduro and of course, Sam Sunderland won the Dakar which is clearly the highlight of the partnership so far. There has also been MXGP, and AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross wins too, so to continue the relationship with Hinson was a really easy decision to make. Hinson is one of the key technical partners that GASGAS Factory Racing has and on behalf of the team, I know everyone involved in the racing program is excited for the next two years alongside Hinson.”
Ron Hinson, Hinson Clutch Components Director of Sales & Marketing: “Since we partnered with GASGAS at the start of 2020 it’s been a really rewarding relationship. With the success they have achieved in a such a short time, and across multiple disciplines, it shows just how good their bikes are and the performance of our products. We’re only a few years into this technical partnership and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in the seasons ahead.” (source: gasgas)
