"…definetely a result I needed!"
In 2011 Jonny Walker finished 3rd at the "Hare Scrambe" in Austria. 2012 has just begun, and Walker is already SuperEnduro Vize-Champion. We will see Jonny again at the Erzberg in june. And he will give his debut in Romania.
IG.G: Your debut in Austria was quite impressive when you finished third at the Erzberg Hare Scramble in 2011. How did that make you feel?
Jonny Walker: Finishing 3rd at Erzberg was a massive achievement for me, it gave me the confidence booster i needed. With it being my first time there it was special for me, I watched the race for a couple of years and always had a lot of respect for those that finish and especially those on the podium.
IG.G: Was the Erzberg an important step in your career?
Jonny Walker: Yes, I think it´s helped my career a lot in two ways: it helped boost my profile and also the way I rode after. I´m a shy guy – so it was definetely a result I needed.
IG.G: You have been riding a Trial bike forever, that explains why you can do all the difficult parts. But why are you also so very fast?
Jonny Walker: Yes, trials was what I was brought up doing but I always liked to go fast. I have to thank my best friend Jamie Law (British motocrosser), he´s helped me a lot with my riding and we just enjoy going riding together. It pushes us both on because he´d hate to get beat by me and I would love to beat him so it keeps us both on our toes.

IG.G: You have had a good start in 2012, you are Super-Enduro Vice Champion. Where are you going from here? What are you focusing on this year?
Jonny Walker: Yeah, vice champion is amazing I just didn´t expect it, I went into the series hoping for a top 5. Im concentrating on British Enduro Championship, British Enduro Sprints, Xgames and other extreme races.
IG.G: Will we see you at the Erzberg and in Romania?
Jonny Walker: Yes, I will be at both of them, it will be my first time at Romaniacs
IG.G: At 21, you´re not at the end of your development. Where do you see room for improvement in your skills? What would you like to achieve?
Jonny Walker: Yes, I have so much to learn, I´m learning everday I ride. I try and study my riding to see what I´m doing wrong and hope to improve. My achievements are simple, carry on enjoying my riding and training,to dominate extreme enduro and win a world enduro title in a couple of years . (c. panny, constanze pandi)
